NEW X3! 2025 BMW X3 M50 Review

We’re going for a drive 2025 BMW X3 M50 I they got rid of the eye still have launch control that’s pretty good yeah solid launch for sure horsepower and torque 393 horsepower 428b feet of torque from a 3 l turbo inline 6-cylinder with a 48volt mild hybrid so this is what was previously the M X3 m40i yes so they dropped the I because they want I which used to be injected old BMW stuff to be electric only I thought it was I because iPod looked cool so you know there’s any store and everything it was was hopping on the trend of that no no I don’t know if it was before Oh way before editor let us know bro it was like the 70s uh editor let us know so this is an all new model generation we do have new looks we do have an all new this is a full new model X3 I I I I agree we’ve got all new interior we’ve got iDrive 9 um what would you like to start with well look because the first thing when you see a new car is what you see yes so let’s get started do you hate it or love

Wheels very traditional BMW kind of the same looking where it’s like the black with the machined kind of face it’s not out of the box but it’s also appropriate for the car at least they’re not all black yes and then we have blue brake calipers to go with them oh because regeneration sure maybe but the brake pedal does feel totally normal and I will say that yeah yeah driving it felt great and what would be the content recommended tire for an BMW X3 M50 that would be the kti sport contact 5p make sure you put your own car up on your own

We just got two regular circles and I know the BMW Community is up in arms over this it’s okay the x3m is going to have six triple triple that would actually be a good thing uh honestly I love that they did that I don’t care about the M Heritage of only the m models what I love that they did is getting rid of triangle exhaust and weird looking shapes so this is great thank you BMW let’s take a listen to the outside and now the inside oh that baby’s pumped in I think it’s like extra pumped in cuz I do have

🔊 Sound Design

The iconic sounds on and I am driving it in sport mode but I feel like it is more pumped in than the previous model where’s where’s eco mode how do we change mode my yeah press that button efficient now floor much last yeah if I talked over it but comparing that one to the other one it’s the same sound just Amplified so it’s like okay fine I guess but even though we have all these weird expressive modes in the infotainment the digital art and expressive we don’t have like the crazy pupped in electric noises right exactly

It’s not it’s not electric but I mean I feel like when I see those those pods there I want the car go Doe weird stuff in expressive even though it’s not an EV yeah exactly all right let’s do a little bit of handling cuz it is an M50 after all and this still drives and rips like an x3m badged car always did like this this is quick I would love to compare an x3m 5i versus an old x3m like I bet you this smokes it I wouldn’t say smokes I bet you I’d say it’s it would be pretty damn good though

🛋️ Interior Comfort

Smokes it oh like a Volkswagen ID Buzz I mean the outgoing X3 had like another 100 horsepower on this so like I wouldn’t say it’s the same but the handling and everything the characteristics that this has are actually all very good the damping is really good the suspension no complaints whatsoever this is very very comfortable to drive and I have noticed that it’s actually quite quiet in here possibly quieter than the previous model it is a luxury car it is a really nice car to drive Erie let’s get you into the driver

Seat deal this deal all right you got me you got me would you like to try boost mode you have to hold the left paddle you get 10 seconds of boost do I have to still hold it or no no how do I get out of boost mode you’re already out of it you weren’t supposed to yeah I know but you weren’t supposed to touch the paddle after you held it but it’s not one of those buttons where you can just let go and get rid of the Boost and it also like do it right now it’ll downshift and kind of you didn’t you floored before you did it but

It said boost it’s supposed to give you a countdown oh there you go no different yeah literally it does not feel any different it’s it’s counterintuitive to hold your downshift paddle while floor everything about this is like give me a red button I feel like it does more on the electric BMWs than it does on this one yeah anyways cool cool cool driving this super nice and normal nothing feels weird about it exactly looking at all like the steering wheel stuff and your controls it’s very IX in here it is which is obviously you know if I drive 8.5 isn’t my favorite I drive 9ix is also not my favorite so they added this thing where you can kind of get like shortcuts now so if you press the home screen which forces you to have your map you can scroll up and down and that’s how you know that you have this if I swipe down from the top do I get stuff yes favorites I can add shortcuts there too you no longer have to swipe from like a weird corner it’s straight from the middle yeah I mean

🖥️ Technological Integration

There’s that people who like Tech look I like technology if I wanted to be connected and I wanted to put in the work to get used to this I could yeah and it would be great why is this so bumpy uh take me out of the suspension mode I don’t think it’ll affect it because we don’t have the Adaptive suspension all right this just a silly Road it’s just this weird SE smooth perfect Road that’s actually bumpy yes uh but you can get used to this stuff for sure and there is a lot of like Tech built into it like you can do

The drive recorder stuff you got the thing that watches your eyes you got the the radar cruise and stuff like that it even has the uh the air console whatever games so that has that as well air you know I kind of beefed with that company a little bit oh really I’m like why can’t I play overcooked and I like asked the guy he’s like it’s not out yes not yet and then sure enough like two weeks after we drove that I5 they released it to like the market so air console is a separate company it’s a yeah and then

Now they just posted that they’re doing stuff for the Volkswagens ah yes and then I sent that to the Volkswagen people I’m like when’s this going to the ID Buzz they’re like what is air console y so I guess it maybe just in Europe for now I wish they would just roll it out at the same time yeah it would be good um but what is kind of nice about this is like this glass kind of panel down here as well as the one on the door well this like connects to the door thing yes but what I don’t like about this door

Thing is that we actually have some fan that is like touch sensitive over here only for that particular vent it’s a capacitive touch like seat stuff here and it feels really cheap like this panel actually flexes and listen it I don’t like that well it has to flex cuz now I’m pushing it it’s moving my seat back to your position and then the uh door pole feels a little bit less uh premium than the last one at least for memory yeah I feel like I’m I’m hitting my Knuckles on the inside and if I was like if I wore a jewelry a

Ring or something like clicking on stuff and it’ll get all scratchy and like you’re so you have a diamond ring and like that’s like like what and then some of the textures and patterns and materials up here feel kind of cheap it’s basic very basic yeah so I’m in efficient mode yep I’m going to floor it and boost mode at the same time okay so it like switches you into into non-efficient mode like into like full sport yes well that’s pretty cool like a Porsche would but Porsche would be instant cuz you’d press that

Button and they wouldn’t have pumped an audio like this yes okay so back to your infot stuff Wireless Apple carplay Android auto still wish it was wired because like today three times you were like trying to film a video or like answer a phone call while you’re outside your car while it was running and it like interfered but we do have a wireless charger down there only on the left side the right side is just to put your phone there yeah USBC to plug in so that that is nice do you like do you like this thing

This m glass thing cuz I kind of like it this whole thing looks good like it fits the cups like kind of all right no I’m going to give the cup holder thing a fail because the grips are way too tight and then it has this weird thing at the bottom where it lifts it up in the middle like look down in the center oh yeah that’s weird yeah so I’m going to give those cup holders a fail all right so to continue back to my uh technology dump of if you like technology we got really good 360 cameras like excellent

We have all that backup assist parking assist stuff I love using all that we still have a capactive button to get you into the parking modes which is really good you like the shifter no but I got used to it used to it yeah the only thing is like hitting Park is the parking breake at the same time yeah okay fine well at least this car automatically puts on the parking brake yes and then the rotary dial is like kind of all right cool and glassy but not as nice as the old ones like it’s just very hard to use and I

Don’t like that the back button is in the top right I expect it to be where my thumb would be yeah like like thex this rotary dial compared to an older BMW rotary dial you need to change your hand position for almost everything you do where the the old one yeah you could do everything from the same hand position and then they got that volume slider that if you have dry fingers it’s you know yeah don’t love it not not my favorite but somebody might like we have uh little capacitive buttons here at

Least our vents are like manual yeah yeah cool they really don’t manufacturers don’t want you touching the vents anymore I still don’t understand what the heck this zero to one does like I feel like that does nothing cuz you have your fan speed here yeah like I’m so confused by cars and this is my job and the climate like you said is in the infotainment and we do have heated cooled seats which is really nice in an BMW X3 and a heated steering wheel it’s nice that it shows it at the bottom at all times but then to like

🏁 Driving Dynamics

This vehicle which is a gas powered car yeah that’s also that’s also a really good question you can’t play it when you’re driving because it automatically shuts it off well the new the new Ford uh Expedition has one with controllers so if you could play that game if you play with controllers would be fun but I guess yeah when kind charge it at the gas station kind of weird at the for 3 minutes I feel like you could fill up with gas quicker than you could enter that game 100% you could it is uh interesting that it has it has it I

Guess yep and let’s talk about these seats they are very comfortable we have adapt or adjustable bolsters which is really nice but no massage yeah well you don’t really expect it in a and then back seat room is pretty damn good I actually fit behind myself and we got peasant blockers back there which is great and we do have have an exorbitant amount of trunk space for an BMW X3 and I do like how we have a lock and a close button and then this transmission has been great it’s a ZF 8-speed Auto no complaints they didn’t screw anything up

I don’t think we’ve had this transmission be bad in any vehicle from any manufacturer we’ve ever had yeah probably not no they just kill it okay so back to other fun stuff in your head-up display yes I’m in reduced mode I can use my right knob on the very difficult unand steering wheel to get a mode where it’ll show me the road yep the shape of the road while I’m driving which is like oh that’s ideal totally distracting I do not need stuff warming around in my windshield while I’m driving no than I love seeing that I

Turn that on right away and then this being the updated system we also have adaptive cruise and Lane keep with assisted driving lane change assist and all that stuff it works so well and you can’t adjust the Gap in front it is built into the infotainment where you can adjust it there which if people like technology and Ai and cars doing stuff for them like why wouldn’t they like that right exactly and then it doesn’t really look like the gauge cluster can change unless you’re in like the changes

With the drive mode Drive modes yeah which you know what I like this art I like this like the look of this yeah compared to what Mercedes has cuz it’s like when I’m driving this car I don’t need I don’t care where my tack is I don’t care what my speed silent is a drive mode look at that closes this massive panel roof which by the way can’t open or close to get air in here it’s just a panel roof yeah well like glass that big never opens up yeah but I’m just saying it’s no you can no longer open it now

💸 Competitive Pricing

Let’s get to the price if anyone can still hear me this car starts at $74,900 Canadian and this one is optioned out to $85,100 hey it’s under 100K which is something Mercedes usually doesn’t do yes I guess it’s a lot of money but it is cheaper than a comparative a glc43 which we’ve also recently driven and driving both of these I definitely like the looks of the GLC 43 way way way more but I like the way this drives way way more but I like the infotainment and functions of the GLC more that brake pedal in the GLC 43
